About the all New A1 HOUSING EXCHANGE
A1 Council Exchange was originally established in Mid 1999. The service has always been intended to be simple to use, non-technical and self-managing; this means that the most important part of this service is YOU, our members. With this, the latest evolution of the web site, we have pulled out all of the stops and built a true next generation community area where all of you can communicate freely with one another in the hope that you will find your perfect property exchange when you really need to.
It is still FREE to advertise on A1s extensive database, as always for security reasons your contact details are not fully displayed on the web pages. Only subscribed members can have full access to you now leaving it completely under your control how much personal detail you share with another subscribed member. This protects you from bogus callers on your phone or front door and from being bombarded with Spam emails etc. The old admin fee of £2.00 for contact details no longer applies now that we have changed over to the subscription model that now allows subscribed members to freely communicate between themselves sharing only the details that they want to. This provides the opportunity through posted messages and private messages to really get to know about an exchange from the comfort of your own house. It will also hopefully ensure that you will only receive contact from someone who is serious about your property exchange.
I truly hope that this site brings together a great many people who would like to exchange their home, and I genuinely hope that my web site makes the process of finding your potential new home easy and hassle free.
I am not a technical person and don't even want to know how or why this web site works! I supply the ideas and together with the technical design and development know-how of Tony, my web site designer and developer, these ideas have evolved into what we have today. I say evolve because the site is never complete, there's always a new idea, simpler way of doing things or some excellent feedback from someone who has used the site. I'd like to say a special thanks to all who have contributed to this project.

Thanks again and please, keep sending me your feedback...  it's valued more than you would think!
